I don’t have a perfect body. As most of you know we’ve recently posted some pics of my 100lb weight loss. Just some basic before and after stuff. Almost all the feed back has been overwhelmingly positive. (Thank you). As always there are a few people out there who are taking shots about it.
I’ve never said anything about having a perfect looking body and I never will. Guess what – yours doesn’t look perfect either. No ones – and I mean no ones is perfect. In fact that’s the never ending trap that many people fall into when their look becomes a primary objective. Even people whose life long quest is their appearance will tell you they’re not perfect. While they may look it to outsiders, they see flaws. They are also some of the most unhappy and obsessive people who you’ll ever meet. Don’t fall into that trap.
I’m big enough to be honest about myself. How you look is the most genetically dependent trait about you. How much you learn, how you think, how strong or fit you are are all qualities that you can exert a great deal of control over. However where your nose is or how fat distributes or your body or your weight or length of your limbs and torso just ain’t in the cards for your control.
Yeah – you can diet and exercise off most of your body fat. I’ve shed a great deal of mine and I’m still shedding more, but no matter what anyone says – I’m going to enjoy my life and my physical prowess. Enjoy my training, my strength, my endurance and my food. Enjoying the steps to getting where you want to go is the biggest factor in staying there when you reach your destination.
No one every looks perfect. It’s an unachievable bottomless pit. However you can have a real life on your way to looking the best you can and being the best you can. The real key to that for most people is real, consistent training that really takes you somewhere. Training that is set up to massively add to your existing abilities, only then do you get the big changes most people are looking for. Our strength training methods are built to do just that.
God bless,
Bud Jeffries

I agree with you, except for two notable exceptions:
Steve Reeves’ “Perfection in the Clouds”
Bruce Lee just about anytime…
And Elvis’s voice anytime…
Have an awesome day, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !
Gregory.
Well, than I am near perfect HAHAHAHA.
Now seriously, that is a great post. I think your weight loss was great and tells me of great discipline. Many (probably the winers and eternal critics) can learn from your commitment. They only talk about it. Like posts on the internet that goes like: “I received the blablabla (fill in the title) program. It looks great and I look forward to start using it. I will start on monday”. When I see this, I know they will never start as first, they do not tell which monday and second, if they are that excited, than why wait till monday. I would start right away…..
Guess people do not believe a simple routine will work as long as you put effort in it. Basic work better than very scientifically ^%#$%$ programs. I admire how you achieved it Bud and I do like your approach to training. Sadly I have no heavy barbells but with my own body, my KB’s, sandbag and grippers and some cables I get the job done.
Back to your post. I have no perfect body but I am content with it. I do not admire a so called men health body ( do not like them) but want to feel fit and handle every day’s life. That works for me. It is more important that you are happy with your self, your life and have a positive mindset.
Bud, I like your positive attitude. You have been attacked on forums around but you came back stronger. Just keep up the good things, I keep enjoy reading the twisted conditioning stuff and 50 points book and your newsletter. I wish you and your family a great christmas (this also applies of course to Logan).
We will enjoy this year even more with our first son born 2 weeks ago. So for the first time in a looooooong time I do not need to work with christmas. Take care and keep us updated and do not care about the people taking shots at you, they better take an honest look in the mirror.
Kind regards,
Gunther

I think you look great. Losing all that weight and really leaning out really helps your message too and makes you a more effective advocate of the type training you promote.
God Bless and Merry Christmas
Just curious – did you get your liver checked out before and after the weight loss ?
congrads anyway
Mr. Jeffries,
I think your new physique looks great and very healthy! I can’t see where people would criticize. I’m going to start doing the crazy swing sessions like you and I hope to post some crazy results for you.
God bless and have a great 2010!
Kris
