Health and Weight Loss Tips 1

This is the start of a 36 piece video series on health and weight loss. As you may know I’ve lost 100 lbs. in the past couple years and I’m going to tell you all about how I did it, starting today.

Every single day on the blog there’ll be a new video up. I won’t write you an email for each one as I don’t want to crowd you inbox. Instead, I encourage you to visit the site each day. A new habit, and trust me I’ll be talking about habits in these videos.

This is the first one with many more to come.

Hey, you! Pay attention. I’m about to tell you something important. This is the first of 36 tips for health and fat loss. Listen, I know what I’m talking about. My name is Bud Jeffries. I run a couple of websites, www.strongerman.com and www.superhumantraining.com.

In the last couple of years I have lost 100 pounds. I was no amateur when I started. I was 375 pounds and I’m down to 275 today. At 375 I could squat 1000 pounds and I was a world champion power lifter. I was that way because I ate weird. I ate too much. I pursued being big and I had a bunch of car accidents in my life that screwed me up. I gained a bunch of weight.

You know what? Anybody can lose that weight. So, here’s the first tip on how to do it. Decide that you want to do it. Most people say, oh they want that. But what they mean is the same thing they mean when they say they want a bag of Oreos. They want it, but they don’t really deep down, honest to God, want it like a drowning man wants air.

That is what you have to do to lose weight for real. A lifetime lifestyle change. You have to flat make the decision that you want it. That’s the first step. In making that decision you have to believe that you can have health and strength, endurance, vitality and fat loss.

Once you make that decision it’s a real commitment. My buddy John Brookfield talks a lot about that because he says what most people do in commitment is they say, “I want to do this.”, what they mean is, “I want to do it until it gets uncomfortable or I want to do this until something gets in the way.”

True commitment and true desire to do something is I’m going to do it no matter what. Doesn’t mean you have to be a Nazi in the way you do things in your life. There are ways to make it a process you can live with. But, you gotta make that decision that you want it.

Stay tuned for the next tip. We’re going to do 35 more. We’re going to kick some butt. I’m going to tell you some real secrets on how to get things going.

You MUST want it. Act like you have no limits, then go do it. Fuel that burning desire to the max!

    Hi Bud,

Great idea for a video series. You don’t hear of many genuine strongmen talking about weight loss…

‘Want it like a drowning man wants air’ Ain’t that the truth…

This advice isn’t only dead on; it also applies just as much to life out of the gym as it does to life in the gym. It’s this type of desire that’s going to get you through those obstacles we’ll all face when going for a goal.

Keep up the great work Bud
    Ray
