Gratitude

bud 2 225x300 GratitudeI wanted to say a quick note of thank you to every body who has commented on our blogs and every body who has bought ebooks and looking forward to the new things we’ll be coming out with.  Many of you who are friends whom I haven’t spoken to in a while and I wanted to especially say thanks.  I don’t really usually have time to comment back to specific blog posts, but when I have the chance I read them.  I also wanted to say thank you for the overwhelmingly positive responses.

Gratitude has power.  Now I don’t really believe in being one of those uber ridiculously positive people.  Fakey-cheerleader type stuff annoys me.  In fact I occasionally want to strangle those people, but really consistency of being grateful for your life and progress is powerful.

Consistently moving positive powerful influences into your life while kicking out the negative is also powerful.   Lots of people have tough times right now, but almost every body is still walking, breathing, functioning, etc.  You may not be making every dollar you want to, your squat may have only moved up to 500 when you wanted to make 503, your wife might have worn the sexy blue sweater instead of the red one you were hoping for, but all in all life is still good.

When you look at the whole of what could be happening to you and probably is happening to some of your friends (stuck in the middle of a war for example), even if something rough is happening to you life is still good.  In fact if you’re heavily depressed over a couple of pounds on a lift or the scale you need to get some other stuff going on in your life.  You probably simply need to be grateful for the fact that you have the time and affluence to be worried about little stuff.

Here are a couple of simple assignments to do:

1 – You spend a lot of time training your body and that spends time training your mind.  So take that outside of the gym and apply it to your life.  You can be disciplined enough to show up at the gym, then you can be disciplined enough to control how you think.

2 – Choose to be grateful and happy with the simple things in life.  It will make a huge difference in how happy you are.

3 – Choose to be positive.  Yeah – bad crap happens.  Find the good.  Once you make a habit of this your life changes for the better and it gets easy.

4 – Kick negative stuff out.  Don’t hang around people who drag you down.  Don’t listen to people who tell you, “You can’t.”

5 – Absolutely no whining.  I don’t care what’s wrong.  No whining.  In fact you’ll be kicked off this site if I hear about you whining.  Whining is nothing but wasted energy.  Instead do something about what’s bothering you.

6 – Enjoy the pure physical experience of training.  The vitality and life that it causes to flow through your veins.  Be thankful you can.  Be thankful you are making progress or will be making progress.   Be thankful to the people who taught you and helped you.

Now – go out and be somebody!   (Sorry I couldn’t resist).

You want to learn more about training that forces you to into a whole new realm of physical vitality and can even change your outlook on what’s possible then stick around for the exciting stuff coming around the corner.

Hey Bud, it’s great to see you back and it’s great to see the Twisted Conditioning mentality back. These are all great points that I try my hardest to apply to my training and my life.
